In August 2017, the UNESCO Chair "Cultural Policy for the Arts in Development" of University of Hildesheim conveyed the first ever training programme on artistic freedom for professionals.

The program was developed in cooperation with 30 international expert institutions and is intended to run from 2017 until 2019 with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office and the International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN).

The 2017 Arts Rights Justic Academy gathered over 30 professionals from the fields of arts, culture and human rights, coming from all world regions.

As part of the facilitator team, I delivered an input about the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expression as an international legal framework to i.a. monitor the freedom of artistic expressions. In the further run of the academy I also offered a workshop on trust-based networks as a resource for advocating and promoting the freedom of artistic expressions.
