Since 2017, I work as an independent consultant in international cultural cooperation and project management, based in Berlin. I specialize on strategies for networks of culture cooperation and offer human-centered and holistic event curation in the culture sector. Further, I facilitate international projects and advise on how to effectively and sustainably implement complex projects in the public sector.

Before then, I have been working for the German Commission for UNESCO for over ten years within the Division of Culture. During that time I co-designed the programme CONNEXXIONS – Knowledge Partnerships for Cultural Diversity to strengthen civil society in the Arab region. I assumed responsibilities for the German point of contact for the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. I was co-founder and executive coordinator of the global U40 Network “Cultural Diversity 2030 of young experts. In 2014/15, I headed the task force of the 2015 UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Bonn, Germany.

I hold Masters in Public Policy and in Cultural Sciences.

My Working Philosophy

International means transnational – I love to be in-between different worlds of culture or language. As I am based in Germany, Europe is closest on my professional agenda. However, as I have been working in UNESCO context for a decade, my frame of reference goes beyond: I have been intensively engaged with the Arab region since 2012, lived and worked in Latinamerica and recently started discovering South-East Asia professionally. Besides my mother tongue, which is German, I am fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Culture matters – Culture is the essence of any society. This is the reason why I chose to put my competences in the culture sector and start from here to incite sustainable change and social impact.

Diversity is exciting – Diversity, and especially cultural diversity, is our wealth. Therefore, I put diversity as a key principle at the centre of my work – the more diverse the better.

Transparency and authenticity are courageous – Being transparent and authentic is enriching and truthful. It allows not only continuous personal growth but also more lasting work results.

Clear process design from the very beginning – Investing time for thinking things through right from the start, allows for increased impact throughout and after any kind of project or programme.
